It draws on the experience of CIP srl, a company that has been active in decoration and graphic communication for showrooms, trade shows, and conferences since 1966.
Every Ambientha creation is born from the intersection of art, craftsmanship, and customization: the collections are conceived as "tailored garments for the walls," designed specifically for the client's space, finished with technical expertise, and inspired by their passions. The wallpapers are designed in collaboration with artists, designers, and architects, printed on certified professional materials, and offered with a wide range of color, graphic, and material customization options.

The Challenge
Ambientha operated on a WooCommerce/WordPress platform that, despite having supported the brand's growth, was increasingly showing structural limitations. The need was twofold: to migrate the entire e-commerce ecosystem to Shopify and completely revamp the digital experience , aligning it with the brand's premium positioning and artisanal philosophy.
Critical issues of the existing platform
- Complex data architecture : products with prices calculated per square meter, three types of material (LIVING, PRO, FIBREGLASS) with distinct pricing logics, samples that can be ordered separately and collections structured on multiple levels.
- Extensive content heritage : blog articles, image-rich institutional pages, project portfolios, artist profiles, and technical guides, all to be preserved and enhanced during the migration.
- Misaligned user experience : The site's design no longer reflected the brand's premium identity and its evolution towards a positioning increasingly tied to designer design and tailored customization.
- Advanced product configuration : the customer needed a system that would allow them to calculate the required square meters, view material prices, and navigate color variations and finishes.
- Fragmented tracking and marketing : Analytics tools, pixels, and marketing integrations need to be realigned and centralized.
- Consolidated SEO to be preserved : organic rankings, URL structures and redirects to be carefully managed to avoid losing acquired traffic.

The first phase involved an in-depth analysis of the existing platform and the definition of the project roadmap:

- Selecting the base theme : After a targeted research phase, a theme was identified as the ideal starting point: a light, elegant and high-performance design, perfectly aligned with the brand's aesthetic.
- Project scope definition : A detailed document defining the included features, proposed technical solutions, and constraints was produced as a shared reference between Hoculus and the client.
- Graphic and stylistic alignment : comparison sessions dedicated to visual identity, with definition of the Ambientha Style Guide .
2. Data and Content Migration
The migration represented the technical heart of the project, managed with custom-built tools, a rigorous process of dry runs, corrections, imports, and verification for each type of data.

4. Custom Theme Developments

Square Meter Calculator
- Development of a calculator integrated into the product page with input fields for height and width in centimeters .
- "Calculate and Apply" button that automatically updates the order quantity based on the calculated square meters.
- Dedicated wireframes and prototyping before final development.
Material Price Management
- Price logic per square meter differentiated by type of material (LIVING, PRO, FIBREGLASS).
- Indication of "€/m2" on product pages and "From {price}/m2" on catalog cards, managed via a dedicated metaobject that distinguishes products priced per square meter from those priced per piece.
Color Variants with Storefront API
- Developed a color variant display system using Shopify Storefront API , with smart filtering based on SKU root.
- For each SKU root, only one representative product is shown, with swatches of the available color variations.
- Pagination with infinite scroll ("Load more" button) for a smooth browsing experience.
- Effect also applied to samples for consistency in the shopping experience.
Product Configurator
- Study and analysis of a product configurator based on cropperjs for image cropping, with dynamic creation of variants and price calculation based on square meters and selected paper type.
- Variants created via cloud functions, added to the cart and automatically removed after a defined interval via Shopify Flow .
Billing Information in the Cart
- Implementation of a system for entering billing data directly into the cart drawer.
- General theme enablement flag, collapsible content, order attribute, and cross-page persistence logic via session cookies.
Complementary Products
- Duplication and customization of the "Complementary Products" block in the product section, with the option of manually selecting suggested products (dynamic source) in addition to the automatic Search & Discovery logic.
Other customizations
- Anchor link to view the finishes directly from the product sheet.
- Opening of external links and downloadable documents in a new tab (external LP consultancy, PDF guides).
- Removing unnecessary finishing photos from product galleries.
